SWITCHING TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM

Good morning 8-2!

As of this week (April 6-9), we will be officially switching to Google Classroom for Humanities. Every Monday I will be posting your assignments for the week there. You have been emailed an invitation to join my class, so check your email for the link! You can also access Google Classroom by clicking here and logging in: https://classroom.google.com/.
If you have problems accessing our class, please email us at jkatwal@educbe.ca or jfgoldman@educbe.ca.

This means that our beloved blog will be stopping as of today! I will be posting all assignments, tests, and other updates on our Google Classroom instead.
See you there!

You will be participating in your first google meets starting today! Here are a few reminders to keep in mind as you navigate learning discussions online.

Our Dearest 802 students.

We are thinking of you everyday. It is beyond bizarre to be at school without your beautiful faces and growing brains. Please take good care of yourself - talk to friends, get outside, read a book, eat good food... all the things you need to do to stay healthy, both physically and mentally. We are always here for you lovelies. Please email us, if you need anything... we can also call. Please know that you are not alone.

Love,

Ms. Atwal and Ms. Goldman

2. Great Thinkers Project

RUBRIC

TASK:
  1. Research each of the 16 “Great Thinkers”. Find out about their lives, their accomplishments (what did they do that was so awesome) and their longstanding impacts on society/worldview.  Use the graphic organizer provided to complete your research.
You must create a tournament style poster that includes the following:
  1. There are SIXTEEN participants but only EIGHT spots.  Half will not even make the tournament.  Include a two to three sentence explanation of why you disqualified each person including things such as the influence their ideas had on the worldview of Renaissance Europe and today, as well as the importance of their discoveries.

  1. Repeat step 2 with new match ups and determine new reasons why someone would win/lose.
